community guidelines

what it means to share communal space

living room studio is an alternative space for co-authored learning, making, and thinking. everyone who enters — whether as a workshop participant, course student, or mentorship client — is both a learner and a contributor. the following guidelines are an invitation to show up with the same care and intentionality that we, the founders, pour into building this space.

we ask everyone in our community to read + honor them.

on relational accountability

we are building a community grounded in relational worldmaking — which means how we treat one another is inseparable from what we are here to learn. we ask that you:

  • engage others with critical curiosity rather than judgment, especially when perspectives differ from your own.

  • make space for people to be in-process. not everyone will arrive with fully formed ideas, and that is the point.

  • name your assumptions. we all carry frameworks shaped by our positionality, and acknowledging that is part of thinking well together.

  • if a conflict or tension arises between community members, we ask that you address it with directness and care — first with the person involved, and then with the relevant instructor(s) if needed.

living room studio does not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or harm directed at any member of our community on the basis of race, gender, sexuality, class, disability, nationality, religion, or any other dimension of identity. if you experience or witness this, please reach out to us at hello@livingroomstudio.org.

on confidentiality

learning in community can be a vulnerable process, and we ask that you respect the confidentiality of each participant in this space. this applies to workshops, workshop replays, mentorship sessions, courses, course replays, and any shared community spaces. specifically:

  • do not share, quote, or publicly identify the contributions of other participants without their explicit permission.

  • treat the personal stories, works-in-progress, and ideas shared by others as gifts offered in trust, not as content to be circulated.

  • this extends to digital spaces: do not screenshot, record, or redistribute anything shared in our community without permission.

you are welcome to share online that you participated in our programs, and to speak about your own personal experience.

on citational politics + intellectual care

living room studio is rooted in the belief that how we cite + credit sources of knowledge is a political + ethical act. we ask that you:

  • credit the thinkers, artists, and communities whose work you draw on — including those whose work is often erased or undervalued.

  • do not present others' ideas — from sessions, readings, or conversations — as your own.

  • if our work inspires something you make or write publicly, we welcome attribution and conversation.

on access + inclusion

we are committed to making living room studio as accessible as possible. if you encounter a barrier — financial, logistical, or otherwise — please reach out. our goal is to make high-level learning + education accessible to as many people as possible — including those with learning disabilities — and we will do our best to accommodate you.

we also ask that all community members actively contribute to accessibility: use clear and considerate language in shared spaces, be mindful of the different contexts people are joining from, and make room for communication styles that differ from your own.

your privacy matters to us. we collect only what we need to run our programs: your name, email, mailing address where provided, and payment records processed securely through Squarespace. we do not store full card details, and we never sell, share, or use your data for anything outside of your relationship with living room studio.

we will only contact you with news or updates if you have opted in, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. under Swiss law (nDSG) and the EU's GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data at any time by writing to us at hello@livingroomstudio.org.

privacy/data policy

these community guidelines + data policy apply to all living room studio spaces: workshops, courses, mentorship, all replays, and any other shared digital environments. they may evolve as our community grows. last updated: april 2026.
